About Newton

Newton is the most populated community in Surrey with approximately 149,000 residents across 48.69 km², making it larger than many standalone cities. The area stretches from King George Boulevard in the west to 152nd Street in the east. Newton Town Centre at 72nd Avenue and King George is the commercial hub, home to the Newton Recreation Centre (with Surrey's only Olympic-sized mat room and wave pool), two library branches, the Bell Centre for Performing Arts, and the Newton Cultural Centre. The housing stock mixes older ranchers and split-levels on large lots with newer townhome complexes and low-rise condos, offering some of the most affordable housing in Surrey.

Newton is one of the most culturally diverse communities in Metro Vancouver — over 58% of residents are South Asian, and Punjabi is spoken in 33% of households (Statistics Canada, 2016 Census). The annual Vaisakhi Parade, which passes through Newton, draws over 500,000 attendees and is the largest outside India. Kwantlen Polytechnic University's main campus is located in Newton, and the community includes the historic Sullivan village plus the Panorama neighbourhood to the east.

The drive to downtown Vancouver takes approximately 40-50 minutes via Highway 99 or King George Boulevard. Newton's position in central Surrey means most of the city's amenities are within a 15-minute drive.

Shopping & Dining

Newton Town Centre at 72nd and King George has grocery stores, banks, and a growing restaurant scene. The 72nd Avenue corridor features strip malls and diverse dining — Indian sweets shops, Punjabi restaurants, Filipino bakeries, and Chinese dim sum. The upcoming new Newton Community Centre on King George Boulevard will add aquatic, cultural, library, and recreation services.

What clients say about working with AG. Song

5.0from 3 Google reviews
Angela Song is a friend and a very professional realtor agent. She listens to our needs and requests, and assists us with our choices instead of imposing her opinions over us. She helped us purchase our first property in Surrey Fleetwood area five years ago. When we decided to move last year, she is on top of our mind. Her suggestions of time and listing price were so wise that we were able to sell our townhouse after one open house. I definitely recommend you to look for her help if you have any needs for selling or purchasing properties.
